Georgian, George III, Silver Inkstand. Of shaped rectangular form, raised on four bracket feet. The borders with gadrooned detail. The inkstand has three bottle holders and two pen recesses. There are three cut glass bottles, two for ink and one for pounce.
The inkstand base is hallmarked for London 1804 by Robert Hennell I & Samuel Hennell. The three bottle caps are hallmarked with the lion passant and duty mark of King George III's head. Two of the fixed collars for the bottles are hallmarked for London 1804 by Robert Hennell I & Samuel Hennell, although the maker's marks are rubbed. The third collar is not hallmarked.
In very good condition with light surface wear. There is a small loss to the diamond cut section of one glass bottle. It would appear that the bottles and covers are original to this stand.
