Likely to be a later handle, although in the George II style.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eHallmarked for London 1739 by Edward Vincent. The hallmarks are rubbed, but please see the photos. The makers mark appears to the underside of the base (double struck) and to the inside of the cover. The lion passant appears on the body and the inside of the cover.
