Georgian, George III, silver waiter with gadrooned rim and armorial crest. Supported on three bracket feet.

The armorial is for the family of Gosselin with Hadsley in pretence. The Admiral saw service against the Franco-Spanish fleet off Plymouth in 1778, where he was captured and became a priosner of war. Upon his death in 1857 he was the most senior officer on the Royal Navy's active list, at the age of 92. A full copy of the heraldry report detailing his naval service will be given to the purchaser.

Hallmarked to the underside for London 1810 John Mewburn.
