Georgian, George III, Pair of Silver Basting Spoons. Of Old English pattern with monogram.
In excellent order with light surface wear, commensurate with age.
Each spoon is hallmarked for London 1798 by Hannah Northcote. The mark of Henry Nutting is very similar, but Grimwade shows that Hannah Northcote used a pellet between her initials. Hannah Northcote was a spoon maker.
Approximate weight for the pair is 208 grams or 6.6 troy ounces.
Approximate dimensions of one spoon are 30 cm length and 5.3 cm bowl width.
