A late Georgian crested Old Sheffield Plate soup tureen. The tureen features twin leaf cast handles, leaf handle to the domed cover and is raised upon four leaf cast feet. The crest is that of a lion holding the letter H and the motto "HONOR VIRTUTIS PRETIUM" (honor is the reward of virtue).

Features the open hand mark, used by four Sheffield manufacturers and the crown mark.
Condition is excellent with moderate surface wear and some exposure of base metal in exposed areas.
Approximate weight is 3.7 kilos.
