An Early George II Silver Gilt Snuff Box. The Cover With a Cast Panel of a Man Kneeling Before a Woman in a Chair Presenting her with a Vase, Within an Oval Cartouche Edged with Foliate Scrolls. Flat Chased Scroll Cavetto Edge. The Underside Engraved with Strap Work Scrolls.

The box sits well on a level surface and the lid closes securely. The decoration is softened, especially on the lid border. The base with wrinkles from construction and the underside with softened decoration and worn gilding. Corners with pin dents. Fine marks and scratches commensurate with age and use. Gilt interior in good order.
