Austrian Silver Snuff Box, Lemberg (now Lviv, Ukraine) circa 1810. Canted Corners, Engraved with Foliage and a Vacant Cartouche.
Provenance: Élie de Rothschild (1917-2007), Thence by Descent. Élie de Rothschild was in charge of the French branch of the Rothschild banking dynasty. During World War Two he was captured as a prisoner of war whilst serving as an officer in a cavalry regiment and imprisoned in Colditz.
