Georgian, George II, Pair of Silver Sauce Boats. Each sauce boat is raised on three hoof feet with leaf shoulders. The sauce boats have wavy rims and flying scroll handles. Each has an identical crest. Each piece also features the initials of who was probably the first owner, to the underside.
Both have rubbed hallmarks for London 1752 by John Payne, although the maker's mark on one is completely rubbed.
In good condition with very light surface wear commensurate with age. There are no signs of the feet pushing through to the body. Any marks in the photos are reflections.
Approximate weight for the pair is 525 grams or 16.8 troy ounces.
Approximate dimensions of one are 16.5 cm length, 9.5 cm width and 12.5 cm height.
