Georgian, George III, Old Sheffield Plate Gallery Inkstand, circa 1790 - 1810. Features twin handles, twin graduated cut glass inkwells, twin pen rests and an ornate gallery with fine beading above. The inkstand is raised on four ornate bracket feet with pineapple detail.
Features the cross key symbol to the underside. This was used by John Green & Co of Sheffield as well as John Parsons & Co, also of Sheffield.
In excellent order with minimal copper bleed. The gallery and beaded detail are a little out of shape in places, as per the photographs. The cut glass inkwells appear to have no damage. The Old Sheffield mounts to the bottles are fixed in place. Light surface wear throughout, commensurate with age.
