Georgian, George IV, Old Sheffield Plate Inkstand, circa 1820 - 1830. Of shaped rectangular form with a raised gadrooned and leaf border. The inkstand is raised on four ornate bracket feet. There are two inkwells, a taperstick holder, wafer compartment, snuffer and two pen rest recesses. The ink bottle covers and taperstick holder all have gadrooned detail.
In good condition with no dents or creases. The rim of one cut glass bottle has been repaired, as per the last photo. This repair is hardly visible when the cover is in place. Areas of light copper bleed.
Approximate weight is 1.174 kilos.
