HMS Chichester Copper on Wood Printing Block with Reverse Image of the Ship.

HMS Chichester was a 52 gun, fourth rate, ship of the line launched in 1843. In 1866 the ship was loaned to Lord Shaftesbury to train destitute boys from London for a career at sea. HMS Chichester had large lettering on her hull: 'Chichester Training Ship for Homeless Boys Supported by Voluntary Contributions' and this is shown on the printing block. She was Moored on the River Thames at Greenhithe and sold off in 1889.

Approximate weight is 280 grams.

Approximate dimensions are 10 cm length, 5.6 cm width and 2.5 cm height.

In good condition with a later covering to the base.
