Joseph de Bourbon, Prince de Condé, Portrait Print Bust in Armour. Fitted into an Unmarked 19th Century Silver Oval Frame of Acorns and Oak Leaves.

Louis Joseph de Bourbon (1736 - 1818) was Prince of Condé from 1740 to his death. A member of the House of Bourbon, he held the prestigious rank of Prince du Sang. During the French revolution, Louis was a supporter of the monarchy. He was the son of Louis Henri de Bourbon, Duke of Bourbon. He left France after the fall of the Bastille and took part in the counter-revolutionary movement, commanding the Army of Condé during the French Revolutionary Wars. The army disbanded in 1800, after which Louis Joseph lived in England, returning to Paris after Napoleon's fall.

Approximate frame dimensions are 10.5 cm height, 7.2 cm width and 1 cm depth.

In good condition with no glass, or frame damage. The inner part of the silver frame can be pushed fully out revealing the print and glass with an unmarked silver surround which then fits tightly into the silver acorn and oak leaf frame. This inner frame protruding slightly from the main frame, but not loose. The portrait is a print and the reverse is blue glass.
