Both tureens have an identical armorial with the motto Tenax In Fide (Steadfast in the Faith). The covers are both crested with an elephant's head with three Fleur-de-Lys.

Both tureen bases are marked for Elkington, Mason & Co. with the date letter 4 for 1844.

Approximate weight for the pair is 6.89 kilos

Approximate dimensions of one are 41 cm handle to handle length, 24 cm width and 25 cm height.

In good condition, being free of dents, creases and repair. The tureen bases with slight losses to the silver covering. The liners with scratches and surface wear. Moderate surface wear commensurate with age and use as table ware.
