The Peninsular War, Battle of Barrosa, Rose Gold Mounted Tortoiseshell Snuff Box with Eagle Emblem.
The 1811 Battle of Barrosa was part of an unsuccessful manoeuvre by an Anglo-Iberian force to break the French siege of Cadiz during the Peninsular War. During the battle, a single British division defeated two French divisions and captured a French regimental eagle.
In good condition with one stable crack to the bottom right hand corner (photos 1-4). One scratch to the left of the eagle (photo 1). The hinge is in good order and the cover opens and closes well.
Approximate weight is 22 grams.
