Early 20th Century British Sailors Society plaque, 'Copper From Nelson's Flagships', mounted within an oak shield. Possibly issued circa 1905 to commemorate 100 years since the death of Vice Admiral Viscount Nelson and the Battle of Trafalgar.
Nelson served as a Captain and Flag Officer from the start of the French Wars in 1793 to his death in 1805. His flagships were the Agamemnon, Vanguard, Elephant, Captain, Foudroyant & Victory.
In good condition with no losses and patination to the copper. Small scratch to the top of the copper plaque.
Approximate weight is 220 grams.
Approximate wooden shield dimensions are 16.8 cm height, 15 cm width amd 1.5 cm depth.
