A Mid 19th Century Sulphide Medal Glass Paperweight, Depicting a Young Sailor & Anchor, 'Britain's Hope, The Prince of Wales'. The image is of the future Edward VII, who became Prince of Wales in 1842.

The sulphide medal is the reverse of the 1850 Allen & Moore nautical themed medal, 'The Walls Of Old England'. The image was also used as the obverse of the 1851 Great Exhibition medal.

In good condition with surface scratches and minor flea bite nibbles.

Approximate weight is 229 grams.

Approximate dimensions are 6 cm diameter and 3.5 cm height.
