19th Century Pressed Horn & Tortoiseshell Snuff Box of Crimean War Interest. The cover with the Ottley medal, commemorating the 1856 Paris peace treaty with Russia on one side and France, Great Britain, Sardinia-Piedmont, and Turkey on the other. This treaty ended the Crimean War. The medal is under a domed glass cover and depicts a warrior kneeling and surrendering his sword to the Genius of Peace. 

The snuff box features a pull off cover with one metal band around the base of the cover rim.

In very good conditon with no damage to the tortoiseshell inner rim. The cover has two splits to the top surface, but these are secure, with nothing loose.

Approximate weight is 96 grams.

Approximate dimensions are 7.8 cm diameter and 3 cm height.
