Elizabeth II Silver Presentation Cigarette Box for Brigadier Mark Sykes M.C. C.B.E. The box features engine turned detail and a cedar wood interior. The cover is entirely silver. The inscripition is to the inside of the cover.
Brigadier Sykes served in the East Riding Yeomanry during the First World War. From 1915 to 1934 he served in the 11th Hussars and in the Military Police from 1936 until 1946, acting as Deputy Provost Marshal at Allied Force Headquarters in North Africa during World War Two. The cigarette box was presented by National Hunt jockeys.
Hallmarked to the base for London 1962 by Asprey & Co. Ltd. Part hallmarked to the cover.
In excellent condition, free of dents and creases. Light surface wear commensurate with age.
