'Henri - Everything For And By France': A Tortoiseshell & Gold Pique Snuff Box. The Cover Inset with a Henri V Gilt Metal Medallion. He was the Legitimist Pretender to the French Throne from 1830. This is the obverse of a medallion dating to circa 1830 - 1833 and the box dates to the same period.
In very good order with some minor age related wear to the box and medallion. Higher wear to the bottom right hand corner of the cover (photos 1 and 4 show this best). The box was not designed to fasten shut. Minor loss of gold pique to the bottom right corner and top horizontal line (photo 2).
Approximate weight is 45 grams.
Approximate dimensions are 7.5 cm length, 4.7 cm width and 1.8 cm height.
