Victorian Teniers Style Silver Plated Electrotype Wine Jug. Profusely detailed in relief depicting characters drinking and frolicking in the style of Dutch painter David Teniers. The handle splitting into two parts and formed as vines and leaves. A cherub clinging to the underside of the spout hoping to catch the drops of wine. Beaded detail above the stepped circular base. The interior of the jug with a tapering gilded liner.
Marked to the underside of the base for John Grinsell & Sons, Birmingham circa 1870 - 1890.
In excellent condition with light surface wear commensurate with age. The slanting spout is part of the design of this wine jug.
