Victorian Pair of XIII Light Dragoons Silver Bon-Bon Dishes. Each dish features the engraved regimental badge of the 13th Light Dragoons. Of shaped circular form and raised on a short pedestal circular foot. The rims with scroll detail.

Raised as a cavalry regiment in 1715 in response to the Jacobite Rebellion. The regiment also saw service during the Peninsular Wars. During the Battle of Waterloo the regiment charged many times, completely routing a square of French infantry. During the Crimean War the regiment fought at the Battle of Alma, the Charge of the Light Brigade and the Battle of Balaclava. In 1861 it was designated as the 13th Hussars. It fought in the Second Afghan War, Boer War and First World War. 

In excellent condition with moderate surface wear commensurate with age and regimental dining use. The regimental badges are both very faded.

Both are hallmarked for London 1840. Each dish bears the name of B. Smith and the address of Duke Street, Lincoln's Inn Fields for Benjamin Smith III.

Approximate weight for the pair is 592 grams or 19 troy ounces.

Approximate dimensions of one are 17 cm diameter and 8 cm height.
