Early 19th Century Continental canteen of double struck thread & shell pattern table knives & forks for twelve persons. The blades and tines are made of carbon steel and the double struck handles are of a white metal that is possibly Hanau silver. The large wooden case appears to be original and has an embossed leather cover. The interior of the fitted case is in red velvet and satin.

In excellent order with some surface wear to the steel knife blades. The handles have very minor surface wear marks. The fitted case is in very good order with exterior wear commensurate with age. The interior is in excellent order.

The knives and forks all have possible Hanau silver markings at the bases of each handle. This set is crica 1820 - 1840.

Approximate case dimensions are 37 cm length, 29 cm width and 7 cm height.

Approximate knife dimension is 26.5 cm length and 2.3 cm blade width.

Approximate fork length is 23 cm length and 1.8 cm tine width.

Approximate total cased weight is 3.6 kilos.
