Georgian, George III, Cased Silver and Mother of Pearl Fruit Service for Six, circa 1810.

Each knife and fork is part hallmarked with the lion passant and duty mark of the head of King George III. The mark of the King's head dates it to between 1786 and 1821, but the set can probably be dated to circa 1810.

In excellent condition with light surface wear commensurate with age. The blades and tines are without damage. The mother of pearl is in very good condition with one shallow area of loss to one knife, which does not affect use. All blades and tines are held secure in their handles. The later fitted case is in very good condition with some loose threads to the green baize of the base underside. The set is ready to use.

This set is not dishwasher safe. Wash only in cold or lukewarm water.

Approximate total cased weight is 973 grams.

Approximate case dimensions are 27 cm length, 24 cm width and 2.5 cm height.

Approximate knife dimensions are 19 cm length and 1.5 cm blade width.

Approximate fork dimensions are 15.5 cm length and 1.6 cm tine width.
