Georgian, George III, silver coffee biggin of cylindrical form with wooden handle and finial. Features prick work, bright cut and chased foliate detail. To either side is the crest of a stag above a wreath enclosed monogram. The top rim of the biggin is gadrooned. A mesh filter, suspended from a metal ring, would have been situated on the inner rim of the biggin.
In excellent order with light surface wear commensurate with age. There is some movement in the flush hinge, but it is secure. Solder traces to the underside of the base.
Hallmarked to the underside of the base for London 1804 by Robert Hennell I & Samuel Hennell. Part hallmarked to the inside of the cover with the lion passant.
Approximate weight is 531 grams or 17 troy ounces.
