Georgian, George III, Silver Hot Water Jug. Arms of Bayntun & Northcote. Of baluster form with gadrooned detail to the cover and foot rims.

The armorial relates to a marriage between the Bayntun and Northcote families in the late 18th century. The Bayntun family were resident at Bromham in Wiltshire, while the Northcote family were from Devon. The Northcote family are today headed by the Earl of Iddesleigh. A brief heraldry report accompanies this item.

Hallmarked to the underside of the base for London 1770 by Daniel Smith & Robert Sharp.

In excellent condition with moderate surface wear commensurate with age. A few gaps in the ratan. Possible erasure to one side, but not thin. 

Approximate weight is 700 grams or 22.5 troy ounces.

Approximate dimensions are 26.5 cm height and 16.5 cm handle to spout length.
