
Georgian, pair of George III silver pedestal sauce boats. Features bright cut decoration and acanthus capped handles. There is a belt enclosed initial P to one side of each sauce boat.
In good order with moderate surface wear, commensurate with age. Each sauce boat has a split repair to the inside of the bowl, probably from erasures (photos 12 and 13). The bumpy and uneven areas are on the inside, whilst one has the split showing on the outside (photo 11).
Both are hallmarked for London 1780 by Thomas Liddiard. The maker's mark on one has been overstruck with an S.
Approximate weight for the pair is 374 grams 12 troy ounces.
Approximate dimensions of one are 18.5 cm length, 12.5 cm height and 8 cm width.
