Georgian, George III, Pair of Silver Sauce Ladles. Of Old English pattern, with an initial to each terminal.

These ladles are from the estate of Elizabeth Pepys-Cockerell, descended on her husbands side from the diarist Samuel Pepys. His ancestors were associated with Sezincote in Gloucestershire.

Each ladle is hallmarked for London 1785. Only the first letter, R, of the maker's mark is visible, but these are almost certainly attributable to Richard Crossley.

In excellent order with light surface wear commensurate with age.

Approximate weight for the pair is 97 grams or 3.1 troy ounces.

Approximate dimensions of one are 17 cm length and 5.4 cm bowl with.
