Georgian, George III, silver coffee biggin with part fluted detail and raised on a circular foot. The domed cover features a fluted knop and part fluted detail. The rim of the biggin is gadrooned. Crested to one side with the image of a dragon, or griffin. Coffee biggins were designed to hold a purpose made mesh filter suspended from a metal ring placed on the inner rim inside the body of the biggin.

In excellent order with light surface wear, commensurate with age. 

Hallmarked to the body and cover for London 1815 by  Rebecca Emes & Edward Barnard I.  The makers marks are partly rubbed, but legible.

Approximate weight is 729 grams or 23.4 troy ounces.

Approximate dimensions are 20 cm height, 19 cm length and 11 cm depth.
