A Georgian, George III, silver mug. The mug features an acanthus capped scroll handle and later engraved detail. Raised on a spreading circular foot.
Hallmarked for London 1773 by John Dare.
Condition is good with light surface wear commensurate with age. A small area of restoration visible to the interior, probably following a split in the later engraved detail (shown in the last photo). This is not visible from the exterior. The tankard does not leak and holds around 520 ml, full to the brim.
Approximate weight is 288 grams or 9.25 troy ounces.
Approximate dimensions are 12.5 cm height, 12 cm width and 7.5 cm depth.
