A George III York silver teapot. Cylindrical body with embossed foliate and scroll detail. Ebonised thumb moulded handle with domed lid and oval knop. The body is raised on a stepped base sitting on four orb feet. The crest to the main body is that of the Baines family of York.
Hallmarked for York 1812 by Robert Cattle & James Barber. Please note that there is no York town mark.
In very good condition with moderate surface wear commensurate with age. A little play in the hinge and holes to the underside of the orb feet.
Approximate weight is 705 grams or 22.6 troy ounces.
Approximate dimensions are 25 cm length, 16 cm height and 13 cm width.
