Matthew Boulton Old Sheffield Plate Crested Souffle Dish & Liner, circa 1820. Raised on four heavily cast leaf shouldered paw feet, with twin leaf shouldered and reeded handles. Complete with liner. One side features a rubbed in silver square with crest.
The dish was probably in the possession of Thomas Elliot Ogilvie of Chesters House, in the county of Roxburghshire. A copy of the heraldry report accompanies this item.
In excellent order, free of dents, splits and repairs. Light surface wear, commensurate with age and use as a serving dish.
Approximate weight is 1.258 kilos.
Approximate dimensions are 23.5 cm handle to handle length, 19 cm dish diameter and 9.5 cm height.
