Victorian Neoclassical Silver Plated Mask Head Pedestal Tankard Jug. The domed and hinged cover with warrior finial, armed with spear & shield. The cover profusely decorated with figures, portraits & patterns. The main body with three oval panels depicting classical scenes. The panels are titled in Latin for Patience, Shrewdness & To Not Want. The remainder of the body is richly detailed with figures & leaves. The ornate handle with applied leaf detail and the spout with mask head detail.
Marked to the underside for John Grinsell & Sons, circa 1870 - 1890.
In excellent condition with no loss of silver plate. Free of any dents or creases.
