Uniface Medallion/Plaquette for Admiral Lord Exmouth. This is the obverse of the 1816 Bombardment of Algiers Medal and dates to around that period.

Admiral Edward Pellew, 1st Viscount Exmouth (1757 - 1833) was a British naval officer. He fought during the American War of Independence, the French Revolutionary Wars and the Napoleonic Wars. He was created a Baronet in 1796 for helping to save the lives of many people from the shipwrecked East Indiaman Dutton at Plymouth Hoe. In 1816 he led an Anglo Dutch fleet against the Barbary states. His victory at the Bombardment of Algiers freed 1200 christian slaves held captive.

In very good condition with a fine patina. No losses, or damage. The metal is probably copper.
