Battle of Vimeiro, Peninsular War, Bicentenary Commemorative Relief Bronzed Medallion, 1808 - 2008.
This battle, fought near Lisbon, ended the French invasion of Portugal. On 21 August 1808, the British under General Arthur Wellesley (the later Duke of Wellington) defeated the French under Major-General Jean-Andoche Junot. Junot had commanded the 1807 invasion of Portugal.
In excellent condition with very light surface wear.
