Lieutenant - General Robert Stephenson Smyth Baden-Powell, 1st Baron Baden-Powell of Gilwell OM GCMG GCVO KCB KStJ DL (1857 -1941) was a Britsh Army Officer and founder of the Boy Scouts movement. He became a national hero following the 217 day siege of Mafeking during the Second Boer War. His military career commenced in 1876 when he joined the 13th Hussars in India as a Lieutenant. He became experienced in scouting during the 1880's with the Zulu in South Africa. In 1890 he served as Aide-de-Camp to the Commander-in-Chief and Governor of Malta, also serving as Intelligence Officer for the Mediterranean.
In good order with paint wear to the wooden base. No losses, or damage, to the copper bust.
