Framed Display of a copy of the Four Chivalric Orders from Admiral Lord Nelson's Trafalgar Coat. Probably dating to the second half of the 19th century, with a Queen Victoria mark to the rear of the frame.
The breast of the actual coat was embroidered with the replica insignia of four chivalric orders that were awarded to Nelson. These orders are displayed in the same order that they appear on the actual Trafalgar coat.The original coat survives and is on display at the National Maritime Museum in Greenwich.
At the top of the display is the Order of the Bath, received after the victory over the Spanish at Cape St Vincent in February 1797. Following on clockwise is the Order of the Crescent, awarded by Sultan Selim III to honour Nelson's victory at The Battle of the Nile in August 1798. The bottom placed order is the Grand Cross of the Order of Saint Joachim, which promoted religious tolerance in Europe. Again following on clockwise is the Knight Grand Cross order of the Sicilian Order of St Ferdinand and of Merit. This was created in 1800 by the King Ferdinand IV of the KIngdom of the Two Sicilies. Nelson helped the royal family escape to Palermo when the French invaded Naples. Nelson was then instrumental in helping to take Naples back.

In very good condition with no glass damage. The badges are made of fabric and are in good order. Some minor losses to the gilt frame.
