A George III Silver Inkstand. Features two cut glass ink bottles, two pen rests, wafer box, taperstick holder and snuffer. Of shaped rectangular form with a gadrooned, leaf and shell border. Raised on four ornate bracket feet.
Hallmarked to the underside of the base for London 1813 Rebecca Emes and Edward Barnard I. Further hallmarked, with matching marks, to both bottle caps. one bottle collar, both bottle receivers, taperstick base, taperstick holder and snuffer. The wafer box is not hallmarked, but is silver.
Approximate total silver weight is 374 grams or 12 troy ounces.
Approximate total weight is 505 grams.
Approximate dimensions are 19 cm length, 11.5 cm width and 10 cm height.
In excellent condition with no dents or creases. Minor nibbles to the cut glass bottles. Slight difference in bottle sizes, so possibly a replacement as one collar is unmarked.
