Georgian, George III, Old Sheffield Plate Inkstand, circa 1780 - 1800. Of oval form with an ornate pierced and raised beaded border. The rear of the inkstand with a loop handle. The ink bottle holders, mounts and taperstick rim all with beaded detail. Raised on four claw and ball feet with two faceted blue glass ink bottles.
In very good condition with a considerable amount of copper bleed. The bottle caps are fixed in place. No glass damage and without repair.
Approximate weight is 375 grams.
Approximate dimensions are 20 cm length, 11.5 cm width and 7 cm height.
