Georgian, George III, silver inkstand. Of oblong form, with a reeded border and raised on four ball feet. Features two pen rests and three cut glass bottles with silver mounts for ink and pounce. The ink bottle mounts are all reeded and would appear to be original.

In very good condition with light surface wear, commensurate with age and free of dents and splits. One glass bottle has cracks to the interior, but is smooth to the outside.

The underside of the inkstand is hallmarked for London 1810 by William Fountain. The three bottle frames are all part hallmarked with the lion passant and the duty mark of the head of King George III. The bottle caps are all hallmarked, only missing the maker's mark. The date letter on one is rubbed, but the other two can be read as 1810.
