Georgian, George IV, Silver Inkstand. Of rectangular form with a gadrooned border and raised on four ornate bracket feet. Features ink and pounce bottles with a central wafer box, taperstick holder and snuffer. There are also two dip pen recesses.
Hallmarked to the underside of the base and taperstick holder for London 1825 by Rebecca Emes & Edward Barnard I. The snuffer is hallmarked for 1826, by Emes & Barnard. All three bottle holders, on the inkstand, are hallmarked by Emes & Barnard, without date letters. The bottle caps and collars are unmarked.
In excellent condition with light surface wear commensurate with age. The bottle caps do not fit fully flush over the collars, but this may be a design feature as both are the same and the caps are not loose.
