Georgian Old Sheffield Plate Inkstand, circa 1840. Formed from an Old Sheffield Plate snuffer tray, with two cobalt blue glass inkwells. The inkstand with gadrooned border, supplemented by leaf and acorn detail to each end. The underside of the inkstand is tinned.
In very good condition with no dents or splits. No glass damage. Some wear to the silver layer as shown in the photographs.
Approximate weight is 660 grams.
Approximate dimensions are 24 cm length, 10.5 cm width and 6.5 cm height.
