Late Georgian, Old Sheffield Plated, crested inkstand raised on four bun feet. Circa 1820 - 1835. The lion rampant crest has been formed by rubbing in a square of silver to the cover of the inkstand. Inside the inkstand is a single inkwell and a covered compartment, possibly a wafer box. The cover of the inkstand has a shell handle to open it.
In excellent order with light surface wear commensurate with age. A little copper bleed in the hinge area of the cover. The inkwell cover is fixed to the glass bottle.
Approximate dimensions are 12 cm length, 9 cm width and 5.5 cm height.
