William IV silver inkstand with twin inkwells and taperstick holder with snuffer. Raised on four ornate scroll bracket feet and with a scrolling leaf and foliate border. The silver taperstick holder features a compartment underneath and a mask head handle opposite a snuffer. The two cut glass inkwells have silver mounts and fit exactly into their silver hallmarked brackets.
In excellent order with no damage to the glass. Free of dents and creases. A little thin under the taperstick holder due to the original silver being worked out from the centre, not an erasure as the taperstick holder is original to the inkstand and has always covered that area.
Hallmarked and part hallmarked in various places for London 1834 by Joseph Angell I & John Angell I. Everything appears to be original with no later additions.
