Georgian, George II, pair of silver cauldron salts with liners. Each salt is raised upon three hoof capped hoof feet and features gadrooned rims with later foliate repousse decoration. There is a monogram of I R to the underside of each salt.

In excellent order with light surface wear, commensurate with age. The blue glass liners are not original.The maker's mark is rubbed on one salt.

Each is hallmarked for London 1759 by a maker with the mark of IW. This silversmith is unknown but recorded in Grimwade as being active from 1749 until 1764. It may have been recorded in the lost 1739-1758 Smallworkers' Register

Approximate silver weight for both salts is 121 grams or 3.89 troy ounces.

Approximate total weight, including glass liners is 209 grams.

Approximate dimensions of one are 4 cm height and 7.5 cm length.
