Georgian, George III, neoclassical style silver teapot of oval form, with fruitwood handle and finial. In plain and original condition, with no engravings, apart from a little brightcut work on the lid, by the hinge. Reeded base.

Condition is good, with no dents, creases or splits. The handle is tight and the teapot is watertight. There is some solder repair to the base towards the bottom part of the handle and the lid has movement due to looseness in the flush hinge. The handle is ever so slightly offset. These 18th century teapots used a very thin gauge of silver and were more prone to damage. This is a nice clean example and will display beautifully, as well as being ready for use.

Hallmarked to the underside of the base for London 1790 by Henry Chawner. The inside of the lid features the lion passant.

Approximate weight is 396 grams, or 12.7 troy ounces.

Approximate dimensions are 25 cm handle to spout length, 15 cm height and 9 cm depth.
