Georgian, George III, Silver Teapot. Of oblong form, raised on four ball feet, the lower-body part fluted, with gadrooned border. The leaf-capped and reeded handle with ivory insulators. The hinged cover with ivory insulated flower cast finial. One side engraved with initials and the spout leaf capped.
Hallmarked to the underside of the base for York 1814 James Barber & William Whitwell. Further part hallmarked to the handle and cover.
In excellent condition with moderate surface wear commensurate with age. Holes to the underside of the ball feet. These appear uniform and may well be from construction. Free of dents, creases and repairs.
Approximate weight is 674 grams or 21.6 troy ounces.
