Elkington silver plated ovoid, vase shaped, samovar / tea urn in the Adam style. Features engraved, banded detail and high loop handles. The spout features an ivory tap and the urn is raised upon an oval stepped base. A vacant cartouche is to the front of the urn. The inside features a tube into which a heated iron element could be dropped which would keep the tea hot.

Condition is excellent with no leaks and a functioning tap. There is a very small and light crease to the stem. Moderate surface wear commensurate with age. Higher wear to the interior.

Marked to the base for Elkington, Mason & Co. with the date letter M for 1851. The Elkington product serial number of 13692 is also stamped to the base.

Approximate weight is 2.34 kilos. Holds approximately 2 litres.

Approximate dimensions are 46 cm height, 26 cm length and 14 cm depth.
