York silver tea service of plain squat, circular form with ornate bracket feet and leaf capped scroll handles. Comprises of teapot, sugar bowl and creamer. The service is free of inscriptions and engravings. The teapot features a flower and leaf knop with an ornate cast spout. The sugar bowl and creamer have gilded interiors.

Each piece is hallmarked for James Barber & William North of York 1836, 37 & 38. The town mark is the crowned leopards head, as this was often used in York silver. The actual York town mark is rarely seen. James Barber and William North were only registered with the York assay office. The crowned leopards head was not in use for London at this time.

In excellent order with light surface wear commensurate with age. No erasures to any piece.
