Georgian, George III, Old Sheffield Plate tankard with domed cover and heart terminal handle with thumb grip. The body features a central reeded girdle and is raised on a skirted base with a wooden underside. Holds about 675 ml.
In excellent order for such an early tankard. Pockets of warm copper bleed. Free of dents and creases. Slightly rocks on a flat surface and has no leaks.
Marked to the body for Tudor & Leader, Sheffield, circa 1760 - 1770.
