Georgian, George III, Old Sheffield Plate Tankard. Of plain form with a reeded girdle, skirted base and heart shaped handle terminal. It holds about 800 ml of liquid and does not leak.
Features the makers mark of N. Smith & Co. of Sheffield. This would date the tankard to around 1784 - 1810.
In excellent order with light surface wear commensurate with age. Slightly misshapen bottom rim. Copper bleed to underside and borders.
Approximate weight is 570 grams.
Approximate dimensions are 14 cm height, 16 cm length and 11.5 cm base diameter.
